Philosophy, background in criminal law

Haiduk & Froelich, LLP was officially formed in 2007 when Matthew (“Matt”) Haiduk and Michael (“Mike”) Froelich decided to pool their resources, experience and legal knowledge in order to better represent their clients. Mike had just come from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office where he worked as an Assistant State’s Attorney. Matt, on the other hand, had been practicing as a private criminal defense attorney for approximately two years. Prior to forming his own law office, Matt worked at the McHenry County Public Defender’s Office. This diverse background gives Haiduk & Froelich, LLP a unique and important perspective on how to proceed with any particular case.

Biography page of Michael Froelich

Immediately prior to forming Haiduk & Froelich, LLP, Michael (Mike) Froelich was an Assistant State’s Attorney in McHenry County, Illinois. There he participated in felony jury trials, felony bench trials, misdemeanor jury trials, misdemeanor bench trials, pretrial negotiations and various hearings including, statutory summary suspension hearings, suppression hearings, hearings on motions to dismiss and hearings on orders of protection.

Before Mike came to McHenry County, he worked for the Honorable William J. Bauer of the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals as an elbow clerk. There, he assisted Judge Bauer in researching and drafting opinions and memos involving issues ranging from federal criminal sentencing, to immigration and contract disputes.

Biography page of Matthew Haiduk

Matthew Haiduk began working on Criminal cases before he finished law school. While only a second year law student at DePaul, Matt helped win an acquittal on appeal for a wrongfully convicted man. Following law school, Matt landed with the office of the Public Defender where he successfully represented thousands of people per year. Having amassed a successful record in trials and contested hearings in all types of criminal cases, Matt left government work to open his own law firm.

Since he began running his own practice, Matt has dealt with high profile cases in many counties. Matt is experienced in helping clients resolve all sorts of cases ranging from major felonies to minor traffic tickets.
